Home Water:  Muskegon River

Drew grew up in West Michigan. He spent his youth fishing for anything he could catch in the areas many lakes, rivers, and streams. In his early twenties Drew began guiding. He was quickly drawn to the Muskegon River for its great runs of Great Lakes Steelhead, Salmon, and resident trout and smallmouth. Drew spent several summers guiding in Alaska on the Goodnews River, as well as guiding in the Jackson Hole area of Wyoming. He was always drawn back to the Muskegon River, which he calls home. Drew guides for Feenstra Guide Service, which specializes in swinging flies for steelhead.  Drew’s favorite part of guiding is getting people to enjoy the whole experience of being on a river or stream. He loves anything outside. When he is not guiding you will likely find him fishing on his own, testing new flies and areas of the river. Drew is always looking for ways to learn more about the fish he chases and the river system as a whole. Drew’s other passions include art, hunting, and camping and traveling with his wife Phylicia.
