Chuck grew up chasing fish throughout the Southeast from Texas to Florida. As a young man he moved to N.Florida, started a career in music and woodworking but when not at work, he’d be at Cedar Key or Shellmound chasing Redfish, offshore or hunting heavy bass and striper on Rodmans, St. Johns or The Suwannee. Ragan left the South for the West to marry, continued his careers and fishing Pacific waters.  Relocating to Grass Valley, CA. in 07, he fell in love with the waters of Northern California.

As a guide for Cast Hope and Reel Anglers Fly Shop, Ragan shares fun and joy in pursuit of many species on the Yuba, Feather River and surrounding lakes and reservoirs. He lives to see people shine and believes in sharing knowledge of the outdoors, fly fishing, teamwork, independent confidence and the importance of respect and conservation for all to carry and pass on themselves.
