Pete Erickson

Euro Nymph Guru

Favorite Fish:  Trout

Growing up in Seattle, Washington Pete Erickson was introduced to fly fishing at a young age. His parents were avid steelhead and salmon anglers and they instilled a love of the outdoors in Pete. After dedicating most of his teen years to fishing the stillwaters of nearby British Columbia, Pete relocated to Jackson Hole Wyoming and embarked on a 20+ year trout guiding career.

Initially introduced to competition angling by accident, Pete won the gold medal at the ESPN Great Outdoor Games in Lake Placid, New York, and eventually went on to earn spots on ten straight Fly Fishing Team USA rosters – notching many top finishes at the World Championships along the way.

When he is not teaching English to 9th graders in Boise, Idaho, Pete travels North America instructing and presenting the nuances of European Nymphing and stillwater tactics. He has appeared on ESPN, ESPN2, Verses, ABC Sports, and The Outdoor Channel, and has published feature articles in major fly fishing publications.
